This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Manufacturing Plant in Indianapolis, Indiana. 


Scope:

The Inventory Specialist ensures accurate inventory by performing and validating cycle counts, researching discrepancies, and assisting in product slotting and organization efforts. This position combines hands-on inventory execution with growing analytical responsibilities, serving as a development role toward more advanced inventory control positions.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and maintain safety standards at all times.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and record inventory transactions in SYSPRO or equivalent systems.
  • Investigate and document discrepancies between system and physical counts with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in maintaining the cycle count schedule and tracking count completion rates.
  • Perform inventory adjustments following established processes and with supervisor approval.
  • Support warehouse slotting and organization projects alongside the Distribution Analyst and/or Inventory Control Coordinator.
  • Replenish picking locations as directed to support high-velocity item flow.
  • Maintain clean and accurate labeling of bin and slot locations.
  • Prepare areas and documentation for physical inventories.
  • Utilize pallet jacks, order pickers, and, if certified, forklifts to access inventory and complete tasks.
  • Contribute to warehouse KPIs by maintaining inventory accuracy and minimizing shrink.
  • Communicate clearly with team leads, supervisors, coordinators, and other leaders regarding count results and trends.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year in a warehouse or similar environment with inventory responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications with proficiency in MS Excel
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Possess basic reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow counting, adjustment, and documentation procedures
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with a team, and individually with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate and promote teamwork on a consistent basis

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions 
  • Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend 
  • Must possess visual acuity to document company records 
  • Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds
