Job description

This is a remote position.

Superlanet is seeking an experienced Epic Ambulatory Analyst to join our healthcare client's clinical applications team. This is a direct-hire, primarily remote opportunity with quarterly onsite travel required.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Epic Ambulatory with a strong background in ambulatory clinical workflows, provider documentation, order management, and application build and optimization. Epic Ambulatory experience is the primary requirement for this role.

Experience supporting laboratory workflows is a strong plus, particularly results review, base/common name maintenance, and laboratory naming conventions, as these are key project initiatives. Experience with reference laboratory integrations, Order Transmittal (OTX), Epic Care Everywhere, and Epic Rehab workflows is highly desirable but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Epic Ambulatory subject matter expert, supporting application build, configuration, optimization, testing, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Configure and support Epic Ambulatory workflows including provider documentation, order management, results review, patient throughput, and clinical workflow optimization.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, clinic leadership, operational stakeholders, and IT teams to gather requirements and implement effective Epic solutions.
  • Analyze existing workflows and recommend system enhancements that improve provider efficiency, operational performance, and patient care.
  • Support projects involving results review workflows, base/common name maintenance, laboratory naming conventions, and related clinical workflow enhancements.
  • Collaborate with laboratory, integration, and ancillary application teams to support cross-functional initiatives and workflow improvements.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, workflow, and integration issues while providing advanced production support and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in workflow design sessions, integrated testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), system validation, Epic upgrades, optimization initiatives, and go-live support.
  • Assist with interoperability initiatives, including Care Everywhere, clinical data exchange, and system integrations.
  • Develop and maintain build documentation, testing scripts, workflow documentation, and support procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Epic Ambulatory Certification or Accreditation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on Epic Ambulatory build, configuration, optimization, and production support experience within a healthcare organization.
  • Strong understanding of ambulatory clinical workflows, provider documentation, order management, and clinical operations.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, designing solutions, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting Epic applications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting laboratory workflows, including:
    • Results review workflows
    • Base/common name maintenance
    • Laboratory naming conventions
    • Reference laboratory integrations
    • Order Transmittal (OTX)
  • Experience supporting projects involving results review optimization, base/common names, and laboratory naming workflows is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting rehabilitation workflows or rehabilitation clinical operations is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Epic Care Everywhere, interoperability, or clinical data exchange is a strong plus.
  • Care Everywhere Certification or demonstrated interoperability experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting HL7 interfaces or other clinical integrations.
  • Experience supporting Epic Beaker or other ancillary Epic applications.
  • Five or more years of Epic Ambulatory experience within a healthcare organization.
  • PMP certification or an advanced degree is a plus.
