About the role 

• Team Global Express is seeking a Domestic Freight Handler to commence immediately at our Melbourne Airport

• This is a Permanent Role - Monday to Thursdays on Night Shift

• The Hourly Rate for this role is $33.0413 Plus 30% Night Shift Loading

• The rostered hours will be Monday to Thursday - 1900 to 0500

• Load and unload vehicles (aircraft / trucks / vans / etc.) as required (manually by hand and with forklift where applicable)

• Load and unload aircraft containers as required (manually by hand and by forklift)

• Handle freight in a manner that will avoid injury to yourself or others

• Handle freight in a manner that will prevent damage to goods in our care

• Ensure freight is sorted accurately in line with defined sort requirements

• Palletise / cage items neatly and shrink wrap as required

• Stack goods as required in a neat and safe manner

• Ensure freight is positioned on conveyors in the correct manner, ensure items are positioned so barcodes can be read where this is required

• Remove damaged cartons or containers from conveyors and repair promptly or escalate issue

• Place goods on conveyors only if they are compliant in terms of size, shape, weight and labelling requirements

• Ensure Dangerous Goods are handled in accordance with required procedures

• Ensure barcode scanning where required is done accurately

• Identify banned freight and bring it to the attention of your supervisor

• Ensure documents that accompany freight are kept with the relevant freight

• Ensure freight allocated for delivery is delivered effectively and in a consistent and timely manner

• Ensure you arrive in time to start your shift at the designated start time

What you’ll bring

• You will hold a Current Forklift Licence

• You will be able to follow instructions and work both as part of a team and independently

• You must have Full Rights to work in Australia

• You must have a high attention and focus towards Safety
