The Need 

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Philanthropy Program Manager, Venture Council to spearhead the strategic direction of IJM's flagship principal donor engagement program. This role will shape the creation and management of the program's initiatives and key priorities, in partnership with the Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, and in direct support of the team’s revenue goals through our Capital Campaign. 

  

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic program decisions amongst multiple stakeholders; 

  • Lead end-to-end program management, ensuring excellence in recruitment, onboarding, and engagement experiences such as quarterly calls, working groups, and in-person events; 

  • Organized and professional oversight of all elements of program administration; 

  • Develop and execute a two-way engagement journey that provides highest quality, executive level offerings and leverages the skills, industry experiences, and networks of sophisticated investors; 

  • Establishing and managing the program budget; 

  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with senior leaders to ensure consistent program quality, including effective collaboration with the Executive Office; 

  • Foster cross-departmental collaboration to ensure high-quality engagements and deliverables; 

  • Collaborate with fundraisers on recruitment and engagement to create a pipeline and a community that attracts sophisticated philanthropists, well-connected investors, and hospitable and generous community-builders.; 

  • Proactively incorporate revenue growth strategies into Venture Council strategies; 

  • Partner with and inform stakeholders such as fundraisers and senior leaders on the purposes, goals, and strategies for each Venture Council engagement; 

  • Guide the preparation of communications to the Venture Council, including drafting communications on behalf of senior leaders; 

  • Engage in direct relationships with Venture Council members with consistently warm, professional, and elevated communication and approach; 

  • Facilitate project team meetings, including communication of decisions, action items and ensuring follow-up; 

  • Manage internal communications to appropriate audiences; 

  • Prepare & facilitate stakeholder briefings, including speaker and leadership briefings; 

  • Ensure key program activities and information is visible to all stakeholders through the management of the Venture Council website, internal SharePoint and other team-oriented tools, Campaign reporting mechanisms, and other reporting channels; 

  • Inputting and management of Venture Council information in Salesforce; 

  • Management of Venture Council and Campaign Cabinet KPIs across internal systems; and 

  • Participation in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.   

  

Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in major donor fundraising, donor engagement strategies, program management or qualifying internal knowledge and experience;  

  • Proven ability to work with executive level leaders and investors; 

  • Proven excellence in facilitating bespoke experiences and strategic donor communication; 

  • Superb written and communication skills; 

  • Microsoft Suite of tools, especially Outlook, Forms, PowerPoint,Excel, and Word; 

  • Expertly using Zoom, WhatsApp, Teams, and other global communication platforms; 

  • Basic product management competencies 

  • Salesforce and SharePoint proficiency preferred; and 

  • Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed.
