The L2 Hardware and Application System Support Specialist- Clinical Chemistry and Blood banking will be responsible for delivering expert and timely technical support for diagnostic hardware systems, which is crucial for maximizing customer satisfaction and ensuring product uptime. This role is also vital in leading proactive initiatives aimed at enhancing service organization efficiency across Europe, ultimately optimizing service delivery and operational costs.

This position reports to the Manager of technical support and escalations- Clinical Chemistry and Blood Banking and is part of the European Technical support team located in United Kingdom working remotely to cover the European countries. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Expert Technical Support: Provide in-depth hardware and biochemical troubleshooting for diagnostic systems, assisting local engineers and application teams, and optimizing reagent usage.
  • Proactive Customer Engagement: Respond promptly to customer inquiries, manage escalations, ensure customer satisfaction through follow-ups, and provide scientific insights on product performance.
  • Maintenance Oversight & Remote Resolution: Ensure all repair and maintenance activities comply with service manuals and standards, while providing remote troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Continuous Learning & Training Development: Maintain comprehensive product knowledge, stay updated on advancements, and develop/deliver training to enhance skills across Europe for both internal teams and customers.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Quality/Regulatory, and Engineering/Applications to provide technical expertise, customer feedback, and support new system implementations, while also contributing to quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and enhancing overall product and service efficiency.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Educational Background: An Associate's or bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, Electronics, IT, Science, or a related field is required with a minimum of 3 years of technical support experience, specifically with hardware systems in the diagnostics or medical device industry.
  • Integrated System Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of both diagnostic hardware systems (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair) and the associated diagnostic applications (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization), or demonstrate a clear willingness to rapidly acquire application acumen.
  • Diagnostic & Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues and biochemical issues affecting patient results.
  • Communication & Language Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical and biochemical information clearly, with excellent command of the English language.
  • Customer Focus & Technical Tools: A customer-focused mindset and proficiency in using support ticketing systems, remote support tools, and CRM software.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • This role is Remote based with travel required to client sites or meetings around 70% of the total time available across Europe.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
