Job description

We are seeking a full time remote mid- to senior-level environmental professional with expertise in environmental compliance, environmental quality, natural resources, and/or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to provide specialized technical and program support to multiple environmental projects nationwide. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and launch new environmental quality and compliance projects as our portfolio expands 
  • Support environmental programs and project staff with specialty expertise in multiple areas, including: 
    • Environmental compliance, including air, stormwater, wastewater, hazardous materials, solid waste, Pollution Prevention (P2) 
    • Reporting (EPCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, MS4, etc.)
    • Natural resources
    • National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
  • Mentor and develop junior environmental staff, fostering technical growth and preparing future leaders for key project roles
  • Conduct specialized job training for project staff
  • Support development of environmental plans, permits, and program documents
  • Conduct internal quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on technical documents prepared by project staff 
  • Track Federal, state and local regulatory updates
  • Review and interpret technical data
  • Provide subject-matter consultation to project managers and clients
  • Provide technical reach back support for environmental subject matter areas 
  • Occasional travel to project sites may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) or higher in an environmental field
  • Minimum of 8 years of directly relevant experience in environmental compliance, environmental quality, natural resources, or NEPA. Specialized expertise in more than one field or media preferred
  • Technical report writing experience
  • Demonstrated experience with EESOH-MIS, HMID, WET, STAR, and/or APIMS strongly preferred.
  • Motivated, outgoing self-starters requested
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing environmental projects and teams
  • Experience conducting or overseeing fieldwork
  • Knowledge and experience with Department of War requirements for managing environmental compliance and/or natural resources
  • Knowledge of and experience interpreting and implementing Federal, state, and/or local regulations and statutes
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while communicating effectively across distributed teams
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to evolving project needs
