Job description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our U.S.-based clients. The ideal candidate has a solid background in bookkeeping, is highly organized, and has prior experience working remotely with U.S.-based clients. You should be comfortable managing financial records independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain daily financial transactions.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and issue invoices accurately and on time.
  • Record, categorize, and reconcile expenses to ensure accurate bookkeeping and financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Process payroll or assist with payroll administration when required.
  • Ensure financial records comply with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Communicate professionally with U.S.-based clients regarding bookkeeping matters.
  • Maintain organized and confidential financial documentation.


Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Proven experience working remotely with U.S.-based clients is required.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. bookkeeping practices and accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (required); experience with Xero or other accounting software is a plus.
  • Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Excellent analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting multiple U.S. businesses or clients.
  • Experience with payroll processing and sales tax reporting.
  • Familiarity with U.S. accounting standards and financial reporting.
