This role owns the full Tableau delivery function — from team management, platform governance, and enterprise architecture to executive stakeholder engagement and strategic roadmap planning. The Lead operates at the intersection of technology and business, ensuring the Tableau environment evolves from foundational stabilization toward a modern, self-service-enabled analytics platform. As a key leader within Project Catalyst, this individual is accountable for team performance, delivery excellence, and the long-term health of PHS's Tableau investment.
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end governance of the Tableau environment, including ~200 dashboards, ~236 workbooks, published data sources, and Tableau Server/Cloud administration
Architect scalable, reusable data source frameworks and extract strategies optimized for the AWS-hosted analytics environment
Lead platform modernization planning including migration to newer Tableau capabilities (e.g., Tableau Pulse, Tableau AI, embedded analytics)
Own Tableau Server/Cloud health — monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, upgrade management, and license optimization
Drive workload rationalization — identifying dashboards for consolidation, retirement, or self-service migration as part of ongoing platform hygiene
Oversee the full Tableau delivery lifecycle: intake, prioritization, design, development, QA, release, and post-production support
Manage L2/L3 escalations and serve as the final technical decision-maker for complex incidents, data discrepancies, and environment issues
Own SLA adherence across all Tableau-related queues: incidents, service requests, small-ticket enhancements, and larger backlog items
Lead monthly release cycles, ensuring production readiness, change control compliance, and blackout window adherence
Drive automation and self-service initiatives to reduce high-volume manual work (dataset refreshes, extract modifications, report distribution)
Maintain full backlog visibility in ServiceNow — ensuring accurate classification, aging management, capacity tracking, and executive reporting
Engage at the immediate stakeholders to show the weekly status, monthly status reports.
Own CSAT measurement and improvement for the Tableau delivery domain, proactively identifying and resolving satisfaction risks
Communicate delivery performance, capacity constraints, backlog health, and roadmap progress through weekly and monthly reporting
Develop and maintain the multi-year Tableau platform roadmap aligned to PHS's Project Catalyst modernization objectives
Identify and implement year-over-year delivery efficiency gains through standardization, automation, and process optimization
Evaluate and pilot emerging Tableau capabilities, AI-assisted analytics, and cloud-native integrations to advance PHS's analytics maturity
Lead knowledge management across the Tableau team — runbooks, design standards, onboarding playbooks, and continuity documentation
