About the role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a critical, quota-carrying, entry-level sales role responsible for generating a qualified sales pipeline. The BDR will be the first point of contact for prospective high-value clients, primarily focusing on outbound prospecting (cold calls, emails, and social outreach) to identify decision-makers, nurture interest, and set discovery meetings for the Account Executive (AE) team. This role requires resilience, exceptional communication skills, and a high-energy approach to navigating the beginning of the sales cycle.

What you’ll do

  • Execute the full range of prospecting activities, including high-volume cold calling (75+ calls per day), personalized email campaigns, and outreach to identify, qualify, and engage leads.
  • Follow a structured, multi-channel sales cadence (e.g., the 26-day sequence) to persistently follow up with prospects and maintain consistent communication.
  • Conduct preliminary research on target accounts and use a qualification framework to determine if a prospect is a good fit for the product/service before booking a meeting.
  • Successfully schedule and confirm high-quality initial discovery meetings or demonstrations for the Account Executive team.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all activities and prospect interactions in the CRM (e.g., Salesforce) to ensure accurate reporting and smooth handoffs to Account Executives.

What you bring to the team

  • 1-2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or performance-based role. Insurance experience a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex value propositions clearly and concisely (especially over the phone).
  • A proven track record of handling rejection and maintaining a positive, energetic attitude in a high-activity environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, and eager to learn the fundamentals of B2B sales.
