Job description

Our client, a Communications company, is looking for a Implementation Engineer II for their Remote location.

Responsibilities:

The contract position for Client’s Fiber Quality Assurance (FQA) team performs fiber analysis for the purpose of deploying modern DWDM communication systems. The work is very meticulous, technically complex, and requires mature critical thinking skills. The candidate, if selected, will be part of a ten-member team including the Lead Engineer. Due to the subject matter and work assignments the candidate must be trainable, adaptable, and able to work independently or within a team. Prefer notable experience using OTDR and power meter test equipment with the ability to analyze test results, troubleshoot out-of-spec (OOS) issues, and make recommendations to the field for repairs. The candidate must be able to visualize the components of the fiber under test, the issues found, the necessary repair actions, and convey these concepts both in written and verbal form. The candidate, if selected, will train until ready and then given daily work tasks, projects, and ongoing responsibilities within the FQA team. Must possess consistent and accurate mathematic skills, as well as professional written and verbal communication skills. Maintain positive interaction with Internal and External customers and maintain open conversation with all company departments and customers.
Contractor for Client’s Fiber Quality Assurance (FQA) team.
Proficient with OTDR testing and results analysis, EXFO Fas tReporter 3 post-analysis software, MS Excel, fiber network construction, and comprehending contract specifications.
Train and assist Engineers and Field teams on Client fiber test methods and analysis.
Collaborate with internal teams on projects, fiber performance, contract specifications, and network recommendations.
Analyze OTDR & Power meter test results, troubleshoot issues found, and recommend fix actions for the Field.
Ensure FQA team service level agreements & metrics are meeting 90% On-Time-Performance.

Requirements:

8+ years related experience in telecommunications, engineering, or network planning or equivalent.
Knowledgeable and able to work in appropriate systems and Microsoft Office.
Work with Planning, Operations, and all internal and external customers.
Maintain positive interaction between all governing authorities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Assoc degree or equivalent education and/or relevant experience.
Fluent on current approved products and technology.
