About the Role
As a Platform Manager, Managed Services, you will be responsible for the ongoing management and operation of a critical managed services platform that provides mission-critical payment services to a portfolio of major clients.
Key responsibilities include:
Directly leading a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts, while overseeing the activities of developers and testers through a matrix management structure to ensure the effective planning and execution of platform initiatives.
Planning, managing, and overseeing activities to ensure the platform remains compliant with all relevant regulatory, operational, and contractual requirements while delivering new capabilities through major software releases and ad hoc change initiatives.
Managing project initiation activities, including identifying client requirements, contractual obligations, business objectives, stakeholders, and access to existing information and systems.
Ensuring all platform changes and releases align with operational standards, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
Developing and maintaining comprehensive delivery and resource plans for all platform management activities.
Collaborating with Product Development, Sales, Client Relationship Management, Technology Solutions, Service Delivery, and other cross-functional teams to support the effective operation and evolution of the platform.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships through regular engagement, site visits, and governance meetings to ensure business requirements are understood and successfully delivered.
Leading change management activities associated with platform releases and other change initiatives.
Supporting the recruitment, development, coaching, and performance management of Project Managers and Business Analysts to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
Acting as the primary liaison between technical and non-technical teams, as well as client stakeholders, to facilitate effective collaboration and communication.
Coordinating activities and resources across multiple technical and business teams operating within a matrix environment to support platform releases and change programmes.
Managing delivery risks, issues, dependencies, and project progress to ensure scope, schedule, quality, and business objectives are achieved while proactively addressing potential challenges.
Managing third-party vendors and subcontractors, including integration activities, deliverables, performance monitoring, and contractual obligations.
Overseeing platform customisation and integration with FIS and third-party solutions to meet client requirements.
Delivering informative and decision-focused presentations to both technical and business stakeholders within FIS and client organisations.
Identifying process gaps and opportunities for improvement and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform operations, delivery effectiveness, and client outcomes.
What You Will Bring
Success in this senior leadership role will require extensive experience in Project Management, Programme Management, and/or Release Management, ideally within a managed services and payments environment.
You will also bring:
Proven experience within the FinTech industry, particularly in payments.
Significant leadership experience, including people management and team development.
Strong knowledge of merchant acquiring, payment switching, and clearing, ideally with experience in Connex and related payment processing solutions.
Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation.
Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies, standards, processes, and governance frameworks.
Experience managing projects across a variety of delivery methodologies and lifecycles, including Agile, Waterfall, traditional phased delivery, rapid delivery, and conversion programmes.
Knowledge of industry standards relevant to card payments, including AS2805, ISO8583, and related standards.
Strong understanding of the financial services sector and payments ecosystem.
Advanced proficiency with project and programme management tools.
Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, resource plans, and delivery schedules.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to achieve positive outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and time management skills.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to engage confidently and effectively with executive-level client stakeholders.
