Job description

The Technical Project Lead serves as the Delivery Leader for assigned customer portfolios, ensuring enterprise infrastructure deployments are executed safely, predictably, and in accordance with engineering standards while delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

Core Responsibilities
Delivery Leadership
· Own implementation planning through customer acceptance.
· Lead project execution and delivery governance.
· Coordinate field engineers, logistics, and preferred partners.

Customer Leadership
· Serve as the primary delivery contact.
· Manage customer expectations, risks, and escalations.
· Conduct kickoff, status, and closeout meetings.

Technical Leadership
· Validate constructability and site readiness.
· Ensure compliance with engineering standards.
· Partner with the Field Services Standards Manager on quality improvements.

Operational Leadership
· Manage schedules, risks, documentation, and resource coordination.
· Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement.

Business Leadership
· Protect delivery quality, customer satisfaction, and project profitability.
· Support portfolio forecasting and operational metrics.

Decision Authority
· Stop work when engineering standards or safety are compromised.
· Reject substandard subcontractor work.
· Require corrective action before customer acceptance.
· Escalate design or scope conflicts.
· Reject incomplete project documentation.

Required Experience
· 8+ years in enterprise infrastructure deployment or Professional Services.
· Experience leading enterprise networking, wireless, structured cabling, or data center implementations.
· Experience directing field teams and third-party partners.
· Strong customer-facing leadership experience.

Preferred Certifications
· PMP or equivalent project leadership certification.
· Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or equivalent networking certifications.
· BICSI Installer or RCDD (preferred).
· Ekahau ECSE (preferred for wireless-focused candidates).

Evidence of Delivery Leadership
· Recovered troubled customer engagements.
· Protected customers through proactive risk management.
· Rejected poor-quality installations and enforced standards.
· Successfully led subcontractors and cross-functional teams.
· Improved customer satisfaction or first-pass quality through disciplined execution.

Success Profile
The successful Technical Project Lead is measured by customer outcomes rather than project administration. They are accountable for delivery quality, customer confidence, engineering execution, and portfolio health.
