Join us in our mission to create a sustainable and supportive future for everyone. Let's make great things happen together, because we do more, because we care.

LET’S TELL YOU MORE

We are looking for a Smart Metering Field Technician to join our team based out in the field across our Midlands patch!

You’ll be overseeing the quality, safety, and customer experience of our smart metering programme, working closely with our contract partners.

In this role, you’ll act as a first line assurance auditor, reviewing installations carried out by third‑party engineers to ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, while maintaining the highest standards across a network of over 600,000 installed smart meters.

The position centres on three key areas: Health & Safety, ensuring all installations meet regulatory and operational standards; Connectivity, monitoring the performance and reliability of smart meter communications; and Customer KCI (Key Customer Interactions), delivering a seamless and positive end‑user experience.

Alongside auditing and oversight, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement by identifying additional requirements and supporting occasional installations where needed, playing a vital role in driving quality and consistency across the smart metering.

We’ll provide you with a van and the tools you need to do your role with us! With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week, working Mon – Fri.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a confident and engaging communicator who thrives on building strong relationships with both stakeholders and customers. You’ll bring a naturally customer-focused approach, coupled with a keen eye for detail.

If you’re self-motivated, take pride in solving problems, and enjoy making a real impact—this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

To carry out your role a Full Valid UK Drivers Licence is essential. Holding a New Road and Street Works Act (NRSWA) qualification is desirable but can be provided.

Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too. We welcome and celebrate diverse individuals, knowing they help us better serve our communities. We seek people who get involved, want to be part of something bigger, and make a difference because they care.
