What is this opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Director of AV Sales to lead sales strategy and execution for Daktronics’ audio-visual solutions business. This senior leadership role is responsible for delivering profitable growth, strengthening customer and partner relationships, and leading a high-performing sales organization across direct and channel sales environments. The Director of AV Sales will align market strategy, team capability, and cross-functional execution to expand Daktronics’ position in the AV industry and deliver long-term customer value.

 

What will the work look like for me?

As Director of AV Sales, you will lead the sales function from strategy through execution, working closely with regional sales teams, channel partners, marketing, product management, engineering, operations, finance, and service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive AV sales strategy aligned with Daktronics’ growth, revenue, and profitability objectives.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of sales leaders and sales professionals to achieve individual and team performance goals.
  • Driving disciplined pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, territory planning, and pursuit prioritization across the AV sales organization.
  • Building and strengthening relationships with key customers, consultants, end users, integrators, and channel partners in the AV ecosystem.
  • Partnering with marketing and product management to align go-to-market strategies, market messaging, demand generation, and product positioning with customer and industry needs.
  • Supporting high-value and strategic customer pursuits, including executive-level relationship management, negotiation support, and complex opportunity advancement.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitive activity, channel dynamics, and customer needs to identify opportunities, risks, and investment priorities.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to improve quoting, proposal quality, customer responsiveness, delivery alignment, and overall commercial execution.
  • Ensuring consistent use of CRM tools, sales processes, reporting standards, and commercial policies across the team.
  • Contributing to organizational planning, talent development, and strategic decision making as a senior sales leader.

Where is this opportunity located? 

This position has opportunity to work from a U.S.-based home office and requires regular travel to support customer engagement, team leadership, partner development, and industry events. Location flexibility may be considered based on business needs and candidate fit. This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the United States.  

 

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. This position is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Director of AV Sales position, we require the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) or more years of progressive sales experience, including significant leadership responsibility in AV, technology, capital equipment, or complex solution-based selling environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing sales teams and sales leaders to deliver profitable growth.
  • Strong understanding of consultative sales, channel sales, direct sales, and multi-stakeholder buying processes.
  • Experience building relationships with integrators, consultants, end users, and other key stakeholders in the AV industry.
  • Strong business acumen, including forecasting, pipeline management, margin awareness, territory planning, and sales process discipline.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and influence decisions in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive relationship skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and market insight to guide decisions and improve performance.
  • Understanding of Daktronics customers, products, systems, and processes, or the ability to quickly build that knowledge.
  • The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
