Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Food & Beverage Reporting & Business Intelligence Analyst to support and maintain critical F&B reporting, analytics, and data automation processes across multiple properties. This role will be responsible for producing recurring operational and financial reports, maintaining ingredient and menu benchmarking databases, supporting Power BI dashboards, and improving data workflows through automation.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with experience in hospitality reporting systems, Excel-based data management, business intelligence platforms, and process automation tools.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Food Cost Reporting & Newsletter Management

  • Maintain and refresh daily Food Cost reporting processes.
  • Export and analyze Nexus receiving data (MTD and trailing 30 days).
  • Create pivot tables and identify top ingredients by quantity and invoice value.
  • Import and reconcile food revenue, cover counts, average food check, and POS food sales data.
  • Generate property-facing reports in professional newsletter, dashboard, or Power BI formats.
  • Validate report accuracy through established QA procedures.
  • Archive reporting outputs according to company standards.

2. Weekly Ingredient Inflation Reporting

  • Analyze year-to-date purchasing data from Nexus.
  • Calculate weighted week-over-week ingredient pricing changes.
  • Maintain and update ingredient price trend dashboards and charts.
  • Monitor pricing exceptions and identify significant cost variances.
  • Archive historical price trend reporting.
  • Incorporate same-time-last-year (STLY) analysis as historical data becomes available.

  • YTD Price Trend Analysis
  • Exception Reporting & Cost Escalation Highlights

3. Recipe & Ingredient Database Administration

  • Maintain ingredient master databases supporting recipe costing and menu management applications.
  • Export and analyze recent purchasing data from Nexus.
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools to parse and standardize:
    • Ingredient descriptions
    • Pack sizes
    • Units of measure
    • Case quantities
  • Update centralized ingredient databases in Excel, Google Sheets, or related systems.
  • Ensure data consistency across multiple properties.

4. Power BI Dashboard Maintenance & Publishing

  • Maintain monthly F&B reporting dashboards.
  • Refresh Office Connect templates and data models.
  • Update forecast versions and fiscal years as required.
  • Validate data integrity and reconcile key financial metrics.
  • Troubleshoot data refresh and schema issues.
  • Publish approved dashboard updates and maintain issue logs.

5. Competitive Menu Benchmarking & Analytics

  • Maintain menu item benchmarking databases across defined competitive sets.
  • Collect and update menu information from approved sources.
  • Standardize menu items into predefined categories and taxonomies.
  • Support competitive pricing and product analysis.
  • Publish benchmarking results through Power BI and executive reports.

Process Ownership & Governance

The analyst will be responsible for ensuring that every recurring report includes:

  • Documented refresh procedures
  • Quality assurance (QA) validation steps
  • Defined ownership and accountability
  • Archived historical records
  • Error tracking and escalation procedures
  • Consistent formatting standards for property-facing reporting

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

AI & Automation Experience

  • ChatGPT or equivalent AI tools
  • Data parsing and standardization workflows
  • Report automation and workflow optimization
  • API and scheduled data refresh concepts (preferred)

Preferred Experience

  • 3+ years of reporting, business intelligence, or financial analysis experience.
  • Hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or food service industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working with purchasing, inventory, recipe costing, or menu analytics data.
  • Understanding of food cost controls, menu engineering, and F&B operational metrics.
