Currently, Meijer is looking for a remote data entry pharmacy technician-in-training. The position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy promotes patient care. This position is a full-time work-from-home role, but at times requires in-person attendance for meetings and additional training. Candidates must live within 75 miles of Walker, MI. Candidates do not need to hold an active pharmacy technician license at hire but must be able to obtain one within 6 months.


 

**Mid-August Start Date**

What You'll be Doing:

  • Inputting customer and prescription information into our pharmacy software system
    • This includes drug name, quantity prescribed, refill amount, and doctor information from a prescription image while verifying patient and prescriber information
    • This often includes calculating and/or verifying proper days of supply
    • All while maintaining confidentiality of patient information
  • This is a production-based role, where success relies upon consistently of hitting speed and accuracy metrics
  • You will be supported by a supervisor through check ins and weekly meetings, but must be an independent worker
  • This is not a patient/customer interaction role
  • After training (typically 4 weeks), the shift will be 10:30AM to 7:00PM Monday through Friday. 

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Become registered in state of practice within 6 months of hire
  • Home high speed, password protected internet of at least 100 Mbps 
  • Reside within 75 miles of the Walker, MI corporate office 
  • Must have a private workspace with minimal distractions; further defined as a room separate from other individuals in the home, with door that closes to maintain patient privacy
  • If you live alone and have no visitors during working hours, the private workspace can be defined as your personal home/apartment
  • Team member will provide picture of workspace at on-boarding and periodically thereafter for leadership evaluation and approval 
  • Desktop device will require direct connection to a wired router
  • Team member must provide ethernet cable for direct connection
  • Home office furnishings will not be supplied by Meijer
  • Meijer will provide computer, keyboard, mouse, biometric reader, headset, and monitor(s)

Skills Needed:

  • Proficient typing skills
  • Basic math knowledge/abilities
  • Comfortability with interacting through virtual meetings
  • Motivated and independent worker who thrives on production metrics
  • Willingness to take coaching
