Job description

We are hiring an Outreach Pharmacy Specialist at BCBST!

In this role, you will serve as a trusted resource for members, guiding them through their pharmacy benefits and connecting them with the care and support they need. You’ll play a meaningful role in improving health outcomes by engaging members directly and helping them better understand their medications and available resources.

You will contribute to team success by working both independently and collaboratively, using strong communication skills to build relationships and create positive member experiences. This role offers the opportunity to grow your expertise while supporting important health initiatives and making a real impact on members’ health journeys.

To be successful in this position, you’ll bring strong phone-based communication skills, the ability to engage members effectively, and a proactive, self-driven approach. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of medications and insurance, thrive in both independent and team environments, and be comfortable working in a structured schedule.

• Preference for candidates within 50 miles of the Chattanooga, Tennessee area
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern

Job Responsibilities

Job Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • 2 years-Experience in a retail pharmacy or comparable customer service environment required
  • 1 year - Experience in a pharmacy setting with knowledge in medical terminology required
  • 1 year - Technical or operational experience required

Skills\Certifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or NHA) required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks involving critical deadlines with little or no supervision as well as part of a team
  • Experience in a call center or customer service environment.
