ABOUT THE ROLE

Krause Agency is the nation’s leading Medicaid Compliant Annuity wholesaler and a growing force in the broader senior insurance market. We are adding a Director of Life and Annuity Sales to build and grow our traditional life and annuity line. This is a ground-floor opportunity to own a division, develop a distribution channel, and personally produce in a market where the opportunity is already in motion.

This is not a support role or a product specialist position. We are looking for a builder and a producer — someone who can personally write cases, develop agent relationships from scratch, and create a strategy for long-term line growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive personal production in traditional life and annuity products, including whole life, term, universal life, fixed annuities, and indexed annuities, serving clients primarily in the 55 to 70 age range with income planning, protection, and legacy needs.
  • Recruit, activate, and develop independent agent and agency relationships in the life and annuity space, bringing new producers into the Krause distribution channel.
  • Build and execute a strategy for growing traditional life and annuity production across the Krause Agency agent base.
  • Deliver training, webinars, and educational content to help existing and newly activated agents understand and confidently sell life and annuity products.
  • Provide joint field support and point-of-sale assistance to agents working life and annuity cases.
  • Identify gaps in the current product and carrier mix and recommend solutions that expand Krause’s life and annuity offering.
  • Collaborate with the broader Krause team to ensure agents working across product lines are aware of and able to access life and annuity solutions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of carrier products, market trends, and regulatory developments relevant to the life and annuity space.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The right candidate brings a combination of product knowledge, producer instincts, and the drive to build something. You do not need to be equally strong in both life and annuities from day one, but you need credibility in at least one and a genuine plan to develop the other.

 

Required

  • Active life and health insurance license.
  • Meaningful experience in life insurance and/or annuity sales, distribution, or wholesaling.
  • Track record of personal production or a clear, credible path to building a personal book of business.
  • Ability to work independently and build without a roadmap or established infrastructure.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills across one-on-one, small group, and virtual formats.

 

Preferred

  • Background in brokerage distribution, IMO, BGA, or wholesaling.
  • Experience recruiting, onboarding, or developing independent producers.
  • Familiarity with fixed and indexed annuity products and the senior market client profile.
  • Professional designations such as CLU, ChFC, RICP, or equivalent.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Krause Agency offers a strong base salary plus a performance-based commission and bonus structure with meaningful upside tied to personal production and revenue growth. The compensation package is designed to reward results and grows with the line you build.
