Overview

Performs the coordination and preparation of document packages for regulatory submissions for new and mature products to ensure alignment and compliance with local and regional registration requirements as well as with company policies from all areas of company as well as internal audits and inspections. Compiles all materials required in submissions, license renewal and annual registrations. Recommends changes for labeling, manufacturing, marketing and clinical protocol for regulatory compliance. Monitors and improves tracking / control systems. Keeps abreast of regulatory procedures and changes. May direct interaction with regulatory agencies on defined matters. Recommends strategies for earliest possible approvals of clinical trials applications.

Responsibilities

  • The role will own and lead regulatory strategy for complex telecom policy, standards, fraud prevention, and compliance matters. This role will advise executive leadership, represent the company before regulators and industry bodies, and lead cross-functional initiatives that shape business strategy and market outcomes. The position requires independent judgment, strategic influence, and the ability to develop highly creative solutions to unusually complex regulatory, technical, and policy challenges where precedent may be limited.

    Industry Representation: Own and lead the company’s representation in industry groups such as ATIS, ITU, GSMA, and related standards or policy forums. Influence industry direction, build external stakeholder relationships, and contribute to regulatory and legislative processes at the FCC and internationally.

    FCC Advocacy: Monitor legislation and regulation that may potentially impact the company and share with business unit and leadership teams to formulate strategy.  Draft public comments, petitions, and technical briefs for FCC rulemaking proceedings working with Outside Counsel. Lobby regulatory staff to protect company market interests.

    Global Regulatory Modeling: Research and design best-practice telecommunications frameworks, combatting fraud best practices and serving as a strategic advisor to foreign government telecom authorities.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience working with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies as it relates to the telecom industry. 
    • Experience leading regulatory strategy, managing complex external stakeholder relationships, and influencing senior leaders.
    • Knowledge of and experience working with both FCC and state public regulatory commission rules & regulations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Possesses a high degree of interpersonal skills and is comfortable working with various levels within the organization

    Additional Skills:

    • International trade association and regulatory knowledge a plus.
    • Proficient with various collaboration tools such as: Outlook, Teams, Salesforce, AI tools, Microsoft Office tools, etc.
    • Law degree nice to have
    • For this role, we anticipate paying $165,000 - $204,000 annually. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. TNS offers a competitive benefit package including medical and dental coverage, life insurance, paid holidays and vacations, and a 401K plan with company match.
