The Purpose Driven Career Objectives of a General Ledger Accountant

NerdWallet is seeking a driven General Ledger Accountant to join our team focused on assisting in all aspects of the company’s accounting duties. The successful candidate will assist in the company’s accounting functions, which includes performing month-end financial close and assisting with daily duties and special projects. The GL accountant will bring their experience and attention to detail to NerdWallet to help build a strong foundation for future growth and scale.

• Positive "can do" attitude with willingness to help in any areas that help the department run smoothly and efficiently

• Strong work ethic, professional attitude, and reliability

• Perform monthly close activities including account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries

• Maintain roll forward schedules for Balance Sheet accounts, i.e. Prepaids, Accrued Expenses, Fixed Assets, etc.

• Collaborate with FP&A and Procurement/AP team to record accurate accruals

• Review coding of employee reimbursements and corporate credit card expenses and record activity

• Assist audit requests from external auditors and support other external requests

• Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages for management and other internal reporting

• Pick up projects and ad-hoc tasks as they arise

Your Success Profile includes:

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting or related field and 2-3 years of experience focused in accounting duties including period end closes and audit preparation
• Experience working in a cross-functional environment with Oracle Cloud, or equivalent ERP is a strong plus
