We convene senior leaders and innovators who rely on Skift for clarity, insight, and meaningful connection in a fast-moving global market.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a proactive, marketing-minded Membership Manager to join Skift and shape the future of our premier executive community, Women Leading Travel. This role is ideal for a self-starting strategist who can own both the big picture—building and executing a membership marketing strategy with acquisition and retention at the center—and the day-to-day work of managing the full member journey. You will design campaigns, craft messaging, analyze performance, and iterate quickly. You’ll have the rare opportunity to scale a mission-driven brand on a global level, backed by one of the most respected names in travel media. We are actively looking for candidates based in LATAM.
Why This Role Matters
Women Leading Travel is the premier executive community for women across travel and hospitality. As Membership Manager, you are both the strategist and the executor behind this community’s growth. You will own a marketing function that didn’t previously exist in a dedicated way—designing acquisition funnels, building retention programming, and shaping how WLT communicates its value to prospective and current members alike. Your work ensures that WLT’s powerful foundation translates into a thriving, highly engaged global network under Skift’s umbrella. This is a role for someone who thinks in systems, writes with clarity, and measures what matters.
Some of What You’ll Do
Marketing Strategy & Campaigns
- Build and own WLT’s global membership marketing strategy, designing multi-channel campaigns (email, social, partnerships) to drive new member recruitment and reduce churn.
- Create and optimize lead nurture sequences, continuously A/B testing messaging, timing, and offers to improve conversion rates.
- Track, analyze, and report on key KPIs (conversion, open, and renewal rates) to refine strategy and personalize outreach at each stage of the member lifecycle.
Community Growth & Retention
- Oversee the full membership lifecycle: from application review and onboarding to continuous engagement and successful renewals.
- Lead high-impact recruitment campaigns and maintain a proactive retention calendar that anticipates renewal windows to trigger re-engagement sequences.
- Write engaging monthly member letters and partner updates to keep the community connected and reminded of WLT’s ongoing value.
Content, Logistics & Data
- Develop WLT’s messaging framework, writing compelling recruitment and retention copy across emails, landing pages, and reports that demonstrate ROI.
- Manage the Member Ambassador Program and regional meetups, handling venue logistics and integrating event marketing into the broader acquisition strategy.
- Build and maintain CRM dashboards that give leadership a real-time view of pipeline health and retention risk, while partnering seamlessly with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment.
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in membership, community management, marketing, or client success—ideally within media, associations, or the events space.
- A proven track record of building and executing marketing campaigns that drive measurable acquisition and retention outcomes.
- Strong copywriting skills, allowing you to write a compelling outreach email, a crisp value proposition, and a high-converting subject line with equal ease.
- Technical proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot proficient), marketing automation, membership platforms, and designing email nurture sequences or conversion funnels.
- Data fluency, with the comfort to pull reports, interpret emerging trends, and translate metrics into actionable next steps.
- Exceptional organizational skills, empowering you to flawlessly manage multiple outreach cycles, regional events, and campaign workstreams simultaneously.
- A self-starter mindset, highly capable of thriving in a collaborative, asynchronous remote environment while taking hands-on ownership of high-visibility programs.
Success Metrics
- Acquisition Growth: A healthy, growing pipeline of qualified prospective members driven directly by campaigns you’ve designed and executed.
- Retention & Renewals: Consistently high renewal rates, a proactive retention calendar, and measurable improvement in churn over time.
- Campaign Performance: Strong open rates, conversion rates, and engagement metrics reflecting thoughtful targeting and compelling messaging.
- Community Engagement: High attendance, robust engagement, and positive feedback from regional member meetups and the Member Ambassador Program.
- Operational Excellence: Smooth, data-driven management of the membership lifecycle, CRM platforms, budgets, and seamless collaboration with Skift’s cross-functional teams.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to grow within a respected and innovative media company.
- Exposure to the intersection of media, events, and travel intelligence.
- Collaborative, supportive, and remote-friendly work environment.
