Job description

Maritime Health Group (MHG) is seeking experienced and qualified psychiatrists for remote, freelance positions to provide essential mental health services and support to the maritime industry. The selected candidates will address the unique mental health challenges faced by individuals in the maritime industry, making a significant impact on their well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments for seafarers.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Collaborate with a team of psychologists to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric services as needed.
  • Conduct follow-up appointments to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatric practices and integrate new knowledge into patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) with a specialization in Psychiatry.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Valid medical license to practice psychiatry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical psychiatry experience, preferably in occupational health.
  • Strong understanding of the mental health challenges unique to the maritime industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
