Job description

Technical Artist - 100% Remote

Short Description: We are seeking a skilled Technical Artist to join our team. As a Technical Artist, you will collaborate closely with artists and programmers to optimize assets and pipelines. Your responsibilities will include implementing technical art features, developing tools and workflows, and performing debugging on tools and processes. If you have a strong technical background in game development, proficiency in various areas such as scripting, rendering, and animation, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of visual quality and performance, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain production pipelines and workflows to optimize asset creation.
  • Develop and test tools to enhance and assist the work of artists in production.
  • Collaborate with Art Leads, Technical Directors, and QA to ensure assets meet technical requirements.
  • Utilize the best tools and methods for improving graphic workload efficiency.
  • Share best practices and conduct training sessions to ensure proper use of tools and methods.
  • Integrate, validate, and optimize graphic data in the engine, using scripts when necessary.
  • Fix graphic bugs according to priorities and provide support to other artists.
  • Produce and maintain documentation on tools, methods, training, processes, and engine limits for future reference.
  • Lead the QA Team in ensuring assets are 100% bug-free and ready for release.
  • Act as the gatekeeper for Tech Art constraints, pushing for top visual quality and performance.
  • Focus on optimization and profiling to achieve optimal performance.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge in various areas of game development, including Modelling & Texturing, Scripting/Tools Development, Lighting, Shaders, VFX, Rendering & Post Processing, Rigging, and Animation.
  • Strong understanding of the Graphic Rendering Pipeline for next-gen technologies.
  • Experience working with Unity and Source Control (Git, Plastic SCM).
  • Strong technical background in the Art Production Process and Workflows.
  • Programming knowledge in C# and Python.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in 3D development software (3DS Max, Maya, Blender).
  • Eagerness to learn current developing next-gen technologies for games.
  • Ability to work under pressure, learn new skills, and maintain positive team relationships.
  • Experience in collaborating between artists, programmers, and technical directors.
  • Strong organizational skills and creativity in finding solutions.
