Your team
We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer (AWS) to join our team, who manages the resources and the infrastructure needed for a core component of the Telecom network. We are expecting a strong knowledge in AWS, open-source tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling and building CI/CD pipelines.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing cloud solutions that meet our clients' needs, while also ensuring the scalability, availability, and security of our cloud infrastructure. It’d be very beneficial to have application development experience as well, as the app and infrastructure goes hand in hand most of the time.
This role offers the flexibility to be based either in Riga, Latvia, or fully remote (+/- 3 hours GMT).

Your mission
Architect and Innovate: Design, implement, and manage robust AWS cloud solutions, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to build scalable and efficient systems
Keep it Secure and Reliable: Take ownership of ensuring the security, availability, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure, keeping it resilient and secure at all times
Optimize and Monitor: Dive into cloud performance metrics to fine-tune operations while keeping costs under control, ensuring our solutions remain efficient and cost-effective
Automate All the Things: Build and maintain pipelines that automate testing, security checks, and deployments, making our workflows seamless and future-ready
Collaborate and Integrate: Partner closely with development teams to align on best practices for cloud integration, bridging the gap between code and infrastructure
Lead and Inspire: Provide technical leadership to your team, offering guidance and mentoring to drive innovation and excellence
Step Up When Needed: Be ready to take on on-call duties (~1 week/month), showcasing your dedication to operational stability and support
Your skills
AWS Expertise: You have hands-on experience in AWS architecture, design, and implementation, and you're well-versed in services like EC2, EKS, Elasticache, RDS, DynamoDB, Route53, Transit Gateway, and more
Messaging and Queueing Tools: You're familiar with tools like SQS or Kafka and understand how to handle high-scale message-driven systems efficiently
Database expertise : You’ve worked with both SQL and NoSQL databases, bringing a versatile approach to data management
Networking skills: Your understanding of DNS, load balancing, and proxying ensures seamless connectivity across our systems
Containerization and Orchestration: With solid experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools, you’re ready to automate and streamline processes like a pro
Infrastructure as Code: Proficient in tools like Terraform or CDK, you build and manage infrastructure that scales with ease
Strong Communicator: Your English proficiency (minimum B2) and excellent collaboration skills make you a great teammate in a global environment
