Technical Desginer

Working Directly with the Design & Build team both locally and internationally, alongside a Senior Creative, overseen by Head of Design, to bring the KOFISI vision, through our spaces, to life. Working on the technical drawings and packs will be the main function of this role. Administrative, everyday responsibilities will be required such as being organized, taking meeting minutes and representing the Technical Team in meetings.

Overall Duties and Responsibilities

The Architectural Technologist has a responsibility to work as a team to take direction from the lead designer to bring the vision to life by creating detailed technical packs and drawings. They are expected to undertake the tasks below but are not limited to, while working closely with the rest of the Design & Build Team to guard the brand look & feel in the center builds. 

• Understand project requirements & briefing.
  

• Develop full technical packs and drawings.
  

• Research and select project materials and products in a decisive and timely manner in accordance with the Lead Designers’ vision.
  

• Assistance in space planning & test fit proposals for Client spaces and for KOFISI spaces.
  

• Zoning, bubble diagrams and space schematics, to study the user-experience of the layout
  

• Ability to understand and formulate design concepts and present for discussions. 
  

• Create isometric views for design development and client presentations.
  

• Conceptual storytelling, having the ability to unpack a narrative for a building or space through a strong concept.
  

• Presenting effectively and putting together a Presentation Document visually. 
  

• Assist with full drawing packs for construction.
  

• Technical drawings including joinery.
  

• Develop base builds from Landlord drawings and other site measurements received. 
  

• MEP co-ordination and being able to communicate with specialists. 
  

• Use of excel to understand and interpret briefs.
  

• Sourcing and research of new suppliers to be used.
  

• Meet with suppliers.
  

• Understand ergonomics and how people use and interact with spaces.
  

• Bring new ideas into the brand, by looking at the international and industry standards.
  

• Set and achieve deliverable deadlines and give regular updates on progress.
  

• Clear Communication with team leaders and members, and be presentable to the team and the company.
  

• Work with other departments, to ensure communication across teams is clear, to formulate accurate briefs.
  

Requirements

• Relevant Interior Design Qualification 
  

• Proficient in Revit with experience in BIMS 360 Collaboration
  

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel
  

• Inscape is advantageous
  

• Ability to read & interpret architectural, engineering and mechanical drawings 
  

• Understanding of interior design documentation
  

• Strong organizational skills

• Min 2-3 years of experience in the Interior Design industry (preferably hospitality or commercial design)
  

• Space planning, tender drawings, construction drawings, joinery drawings, client liaison, MEP co-ordination and on-site liaison.
