Job Description:

We are looking for detail-oriented and experienced Paralegals who have previously supported lawyers and legal teams working within the Australian legal system. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in commercial litigation, criminal law, or both. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a remote setting while managing complex case documentation, legal research, and supporting litigation processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist lawyers with preparation of litigation and criminal defence cases, including drafting legal documents, organizing discovery, and managing client communication.
  • Conduct detailed legal research relevant to commercial disputes, regulatory compliance, debt recovery, and criminal law matters across Australian jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and review documents including pleadings, affidavits, subpoenas, briefs, court forms, and correspondence.
  • Maintain and manage case files, deadlines, and legal databases in support of ongoing litigation or criminal proceedings.
  • Liaise with clients, barristers, court personnel, and opposing counsel as required.
  • Support lawyers in trial preparation including document bundles, timelines, and evidence review.
  • Ensure all procedural and filing requirements are met in line with Australian court practices and criminal procedures.




Requirements


  • Diploma or Certificate in Legal Studies or Paralegal Studies; Law degrees are highly regarded.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal supporting litigation or criminal law practitioners in Australia.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian court systems, litigation procedures, and legal terminology.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and litigation management systems (e.g., SmokeBall, LEAP).
  • Excellent drafting skills and attention to procedural accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work remotely and independently.
