Job description

Who is Forcepoint?

Forcepoint simplifies security for global businesses and governments. Forcepoint’s all-in-one, truly cloud-native platform makes it easy to adopt Zero Trust and prevent the theft or loss of sensitive data and intellectual property no matter where people are working. 20+ years in business. 2.7k employees. 150 countries. 11k+ customers. 300+ patents. If our mission excites you, you’re in the right place; we want you to bring your own energy to help us create a safer world. All we’re missing is you!

Forcepoint is looking for an Engineering Development Manager to lead and grow a high-performing software development team within the DSPM business unit. In this role you will balance technical credibility with people leadership — translating roadmap priorities into executable engineering plans, fostering a culture of delivery excellence, and developing your team's skills and careers. You will work closely with Product Management, Architecture, and peer engineering leaders to ensure DSPM's capabilities are built to the highest standards of quality, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and grow a team of software engineers delivering DSPM product capabilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives: planning, execution, retrospective, and continuous improvement

  • Partner with Product Management to translate roadmap priorities into well-defined engineering plans with clear milestones

  • Drive adoption of engineering best practices — code quality, CI/CD, automated testing, security-by-design, and DORA metrics

  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations; actively coach and mentor direct reports

  • Manage headcount planning, hiring, and onboarding of new engineering talent in partnership with HR and Talent Acquisition

  • Act as a point of escalation for technical and delivery issues, removing blockers and unblocking the team

  • Collaborate with peer engineering leaders across Forcepoint to ensure architectural alignment and shared standards

  • Champion Agile delivery practices across DSPM, using data — cycle time, lead time, deployment frequency — to drive improvement

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong engineering background with the ability to engage credibly at a technical level with engineers and architects

  • Proven people management skills — experienced at growing, retaining, and inspiring engineering talent

  • Excellent communication skills: able to translate technical complexity for non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership

  • Strong delivery mindset — ownership, accountability, and a clear bias for action

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, globally distributed engineering organisation with competing priorities

  • Analytically minded: uses delivery data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a management or technical lead capacity

  • Demonstrated experience managing distributed or remote engineering teams across multiple time zones

  • Background in enterprise security software, SaaS, or data-first cybersecurity is preferred

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, CI/CD practices, and cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Experience with Workday, Jira, or comparable HR and project management tooling is advantageous
