Description of Work
This is a supervisory position and reports to the Controller. The primary purpose of this position is to manage the accounts payable team of technicians to provide general accounts payable support within the Financial Services Division (FSD) of the department. The successful candidate will oversee the accounts payable processes in the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS). This position is responsible for setting policies and procedures, tracking and reporting payment timeliness, developing and conducting training, and providing positive customer experience. The position works independently and is responsible for timely response to management assignments and division questions.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or other curriculum that would provide a core curriculum in financial management coursework from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associateβs degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of accounting or auditing experience; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four (4) years of experience as an accounting technician, three of which must have been at an advanced technical level or an equivalent combination of education and experience.EEO Statement
