Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior SDET / Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and own the automated quality infrastructure for a fast-growing, technology-driven organization. This role goes beyond traditional QA by focusing on scalable test automation, CI/CD integration, and quality engineering practices that support rapid software delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, modern test automation frameworks, and API testing, along with experience creating testing frameworks from scratch. Experience working with AI-powered development workflows and testing AI/LLM-driven applications is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end (E2E), integration, and API testing frameworks from scratch.

• Build automated quality infrastructure that supports rapid product development and deployment.

• Develop testing frameworks and evaluation systems for AI/LLM-powered applications, including agentic workflows and RAG-based systems.

• Create automated guardrails, confidence metrics, regression detection, and traceability mechanisms for non-deterministic AI systems.

• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and continuous delivery.

• Leverage AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate test development and maintenance.

• Collaborate closely with software engineers to improve testability and establish quality standards across backend and frontend systems.

• Implement testing strategies for REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication flows, and microservice architectures.

• Monitor application quality in production using observability and analytics tools.

• Help drive a culture of engineering excellence, automation, and quality ownership across distributed teams.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• Senior-level experience as an SDET or Test Automation Engineer.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright (preferred), Cypress, or Puppeteer.

• Extensive experience testing REST and GraphQL APIs, including authentication and authorization flows.

• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and test data management.

• Proven ability to design and build testing frameworks from scratch.

• Experience working independently in remote, async-first environments.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing AI/LLM applications, including prompt evaluation, hallucination detection, retrieval accuracy validation, agent workflow testing, and RAG systems.

• Familiarity with LangSmith, Braintrust, or custom AI evaluation frameworks.

• Experience with AWS or Azure.

• Familiarity with Fastify, Hono, or Express.

• Knowledge of observability, production monitoring, and quality metrics.

• Experience validating dynamically generated assets such as PDFs.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.

• Experience integrating or testing Slack APIs, PostHog, and Metabase.

• Product-minded approach with a strong focus on user experience and software quality.
