Position: Basque Audio Generalist Evaluator Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–20 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

Transcribe and optimize audio and video content in Basque. Ensure clarity and accuracy while adhering to guidelines.
Produce high-quality written outputs in Basque and English. Capture nuances like tone, intent, and dialectal variations.
Develop evaluation rubrics and grading guidelines in Basque and English. Document standards for consistency.
Conduct model testing and grading. Evaluate outputs for accuracy, completeness, and fluency.
Support benchmarking and quality assurance. Participate in QA cycles to ensure quality and consistency.

Qualifications

Must-Have

Strong writing, editing, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Native or near-native fluency in Basque and professional fluency in English.
Familiarity with spoken Basque, regional vocabulary, and dialects.
Ability to transcribe and analyze Basque audio content.
Available to commit 10–20 hours/week.

Preferred

College students or recent graduates.
Background in linguistics, humanities, social sciences, journalism, translation/localization, or technical disciplines.
Experience with transcription, annotation, localization, evaluation, or research workflows in Basque.
Familiarity with Standard Basque and regional dialects.
Interest in AI, language models, or applied research environments.
