ISCC – International Sustainability and Carbon Certification is one of the leading certification systems for sustainability, traceability, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Our activities and impact are expanding, and our teams are growing exponentially since the last 3 years. This is why the Integrity team is looking forward to welcoming you as Certification Body Integrity Assessor. 

The Certification Body Integrity Assessor has the objective to verify compliance of Certification Bodies with ISCC requirements in order to safeguard the consistency, credibility, and integrity of the ISCC certification system.

Your main duties will be:
  • Plan and prepare on-site, remote and desktop Integrity Assessments, including associated travel activities, in coordination with the ISCC office in Cologne
  • Prepare and coordinate assessment schedules and audit plans for Integrity Assessments
  • Conduct ISCC Integrity Assessments of certification bodies with a regional focus on North and Latin America, in accordance with ISCC standards and procedures
  • Conduct desktop reviews, on-site and remote Certification Body (CB) office assessments, with a focus on Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO/IEC 17065-related requirements and compliance with ISCC requirements for certification bodies
  • Conduct witness assessments of auditors to evaluate audit performance, auditor competence and compliance with ISCC requirements
  • Evaluate audit evidence, identify findings and follow up on non-conformities and corrective actions as applicable
  • Compile clear, objective and evidence-based Integrity Assessment Reports and CB Applicant Assessment Reports
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the ISCC System and the ISCC Integrity Program


Your profile

  • Completed university studies or comparable qualification in a relevant field
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in certification, conformity assessment, quality management or auditing
  • Audit or ISCC experience is mandatory
  • Completed auditor or lead auditor training, preferably based on ISO 19011, with demonstrated experience in audit planning, interviewing, sampling, evidence evaluation, reporting and formulation of findings
  • Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17065 and demonstrated experience assessing Certification Body Quality Management Systems, including impartiality, competence management, certification processes and decision-making requirements
  • Experience conducting desktop reviews, remote assessments and on-site audits or assessments, including evidence-based evaluation of certification files
  • Experience conducting witness assessments or evaluating auditor competence and audit performance is an advantage
  • Strong ability to prepare clear, objective and evidence-based assessment reports, including non-conformities, corrective action requests and follow-up conclusions
  • Understanding of global supply chains and complex organisational set-ups
  • Independence and freedom from conflicts of interest; Integrity Assessors cannot simultaneously work as auditors for certification bodies
  • High proficiency in English; additional languages, especially Spanish or Portuguese, are an advantage
  • Residing in North or Latin America, with valid visas or permits and high willingness and availability to travel throughout the region to conduct Integrity Assessments
  • Very good organisational and communication skills
  • High level of commitment, proficiency and assertiveness
  • Structured, accurate and independent working style
  • Good knowledge of standard IT tools, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
