Sourcing Expert is responsible for conducting end-to-end sourcing activities since requirements data gathering until implementation of contracted conditions in the different IT Systems, business, countries. Requires fluent communication with stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues from Procurement and other Functions and understanding of business objectives in order to achieve the best outcome. Follows legal regulatory requirements and FME Policies and standards.
Activities include and it’s not limited to conduct request for quotations/proposals/information and/or tenders, negotiate contract terms and conditions, elaborate contracts, implement contracts in systems, suppliers’ scouting, create suppliers in systems, supplier relationship management, suppliers’ escalation management, business case creation, calculation of savings and reporting, etc.
Responsibilities:
In relation to categories’ strategies:
When required, provide inputs to Category Management on Categories’ Strategies
Supports the execution of category strategies
In relation to suppliers:
Conduct suppliers’ scouting and market intelligence activities proposing new or alternative suppliers
Evaluate financial stability and qualifications of suppliers and manage suppliers’ risks. Execute suppliers’ due diligence
Optimize (reduce or increase) the number of suppliers within his/her scope of work
For assigned areas resolve diligently quality, supply or any other issues in close collaboration with the Business, the supplier, Quality Team, GBS, Procurement Category Team, etc.
Support supplier relationship management activities for an identified group of suppliers
Complete suppliers’ scorecards and prepare information for suppliers’ review meetings
In relation to sourcing activities:
Ensure business requirements are clear and ready to conduct a tender or a purchasing activity
Analyze suppliers’ proposals, including price, should-cost modelling, benchmarking and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
In collaboration with the business, define the negotiation strategy, including targets for costs and key commercial/business terms.
Conduct price and contract terms and conditions negotiations
Generate and present supplier-decision recommendations including quotes’ comparisons, risks, terms, etc. ensuring transparent and aligned decision
Ensure full tendering and contracting documentation storage according to company standards (Request for Quotation documents, contracts and data & price comparisons, decisions’ protocols, etc.)
When required, document and report sourcing project status and outcomes
In relation to ways of working:
Champion the use of technology for when running sourcing events including but not limited to tools used for eSourcing, Contract management, Spend management, Ariba, SAP, AI, others. Leverage eAuctions where appropriate as much as possible.
Demonstrate the highest ethical standards and follow Fresenius Medical Policies, Standards, Processes and Procedures
Other tasks:
Identify, develop and support opportunities to optimize spend, reduce costs, mitigate supply risks, improve services, bring innovation and assure supply
Participates in suppliers’ business reviews
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance or Engineering, required
Procurement or Supply Chain certification is an advantage
Project management certification is an advantage
Commercial law certification is an advantage
English (written and spoken) – Fluent
Additional Language according to specific job position – Italian
+12 years of experience in procurement, including purchasing and/or category management and/or contract life cycle management processes
+5 years worked in a multinational environment and global position
Knowledge of e-sourcing (e.g. Jaggaer), contract life-cycle management (e.g. Contract PodAI) and other Procurement related tools (e.g. Sievo, ORO Labs, Aravo, Sustainability)
Advanced knowledge of SAP, SAP Ariba, Power BI and A/P Invoice processing tools
Advanced knowledge of MS Tools Xls, Power Point, Word. MS Teams
Have a notion of AI Tools and use cases applied to Procurement
Exposure to work with or manage a Global Business Service organization
Experience on project management and continuous improvement
Experience in health care sector is an advantage
Excellent knowledge of Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Tendering and Contracting.
Strong and advanced negotiation and relationship management skills.
Knowledge of Category Management, Market intelligence, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models, Should-cost analysis.
Knowledge of contracting terms, clauses, liabilities, contract risks.
