Job description

Location: Brazil only · 100% remote
Type: Full-time, contract

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a User Experience Designer, with strong discovery skills, who can work directly with clients and internal teams to turn business goals into meaningful solutions.

The day-to-day responsibilities is heavily focused on understanding the client: gathering and clarifying business requirements, thinking critically about the root problem(s) to be solved, and confidently articulating alternative approaches while demonstrating the value of each path. Illustrate the ideas using wireframes and screens, to show how the requirements are made tangible and validate these with the client.

Clearly communicate requirements and lead productive discussions with Development, QA, Product, and Program Management teams. Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Behavior Driven Development, and User-Centered Design is fundamental to our process, and we expect hands-on experience applying these approaches.

This is an English-speaking position, and the successful candidate must be able to clearly communicate with both clients and the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with clients and product leaders to translate business goals into detailed requirements and supporting documentation
  • Investigate the root problem behind each request and propose alternative approaches, explaining the value of each to the client
  • Present solutions to clients and discuss how they meet business goals
  • Actively listen to feedback from clients and the internal team, understanding why it matters to the project

Design & Delivery

  • Illustrate requirements and the paths to achieve them through wireframes and screens that reflect current best practices and tools
  • Manage a delivery cadence that lets the client engage with, review, and approve deliverables, ensuring clear buy-in on the product and its features
  • Collaborate end to end with architects, developers, QA, Product Owners, Program Management, and client stakeholders

General

  • Excellent time management skills, to be able to work on multiple projects.
  • Reprioritize as priorities shift — the environment is fast-changing and being able to assess and adapt quickly is important.
  • Able to actively listen to feedback, to understand how and why that feedback is important to the client or internal team about the project

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience leading discovery and requirements gathering with clients
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, Axure, etc.
  • Critical thinking — a genuine enjoyment of solving complex problems with well-considered solutions
  • Understanding of Agile tenets and how to apply them in practice
  • Effective communication and the ability to confidently present alternative suggestions to clients
  • Understanding of design fundamentals, especially as applied to digital media
  • A portfolio demonstrating UX Design applied to tangible, finished products

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in the financial sector / financial domain
  • Solid understanding of front-end (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Understanding of mobile-first design and the differences between the major mobile platform UI and interaction patterns
  • User journey mapping, flow diagramming, and user testing methods
