Job Description :

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of a shared billing and invoicing platform that powers multiple products across our portfolio. This role is responsible for defining how product usage and business events are translated into accurate, scalable, and flexible billing constructs, ultimately enabling seamless invoice generation and revenue realization.

You will operate at the intersection of product, engineering, finance, and operations—designing systems that are both technically robust and commercially precise.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Ownership

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for a centralized billing and invoicing platform.
  • Establish a scalable, reusable architecture that supports multiple product lines with varying pricing models and billing needs.
  • Drive standardization across products while allowing for necessary flexibility.

Event-to-Revenue Modeling

  • Partner with product teams to identify and define billable events (usage-based, subscription, hybrid, etc.).
  • Translate product usage, workflows, and outcomes into structured, auditable billing data models.
  • Ensure traceability from raw product signals → billable events → charges → invoices.

Cross-Product Integration

  • Work with multiple product teams to understand requirements, normalize data inputs, and align on integration patterns.
  • Design APIs, contracts, and data pipelines that enable consistent ingestion of billing events across systems.
  • Resolve conflicts between product-specific needs and platform-wide standards.

Pricing & Monetization Enablement

  • Support complex pricing strategies (tiered, usage-based, transaction-based, contracts).
  • Partner with finance and go-to-market teams to ensure pricing models are implementable, testable, and scalable.
  • Enable rapid experimentation with pricing and packaging.

Invoicing & Financial Systems Integration

  • Ensure clean integration with invoicing, ERP, and financial systems.
  • Own requirements for invoice generation, adjustments, credits, taxes, and compliance considerations.
  • Drive accuracy, transparency, and auditability of invoices.

Data Integrity & Governance

  • Define standards for data quality, reconciliation, and auditability.
  • Implement controls to ensure billing accuracy and prevent revenue leakage.
  • Partner with finance on reconciliation processes and reporting.

Stakeholder Leadership

  • Serve as the central point of coordination across Product, Engineering, Finance (RevOps/Accounting), Legal, and Customer Operations.
  • Communicate clearly with executives and stakeholders on tradeoffs, risks, and progress.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of product management experience, with at least 2+ years in billing, invoicing, payments, or financial systems.
  • Proven experience building or scaling platform products serving multiple internal or external customers.
  • Experience with usage-based billing, event-driven architectures, or metering systems.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, APIs, and system integrations.

Domain Expertise

  • Familiarity with:
    • Billing engines (e.g., Zuora, Stripe Billing, Chargebee, or custom platforms)
    • Invoice lifecycle management
    • Revenue recognition concepts (at a practical/working level)
  • Experience translating business concepts into technical requirements.

Core Competencies

  • Exceptional ability to structure ambiguity and define systems from first principles.
  • Strong analytical skills—comfortable working with data models and debugging discrepancies.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance standardization vs. flexibility across competing product needs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in enterprise SaaS or B2B platforms with complex pricing models.
  • Background in fintech, insuretech, or transaction-heavy domains.
  • Exposure to compliance considerations (taxation, regional billing rules, audit requirements).
  • Experience rebuilding or modernizing legacy billing systems.

What Success Looks Like

  • A unified billing platform that supports multiple products without fragmentation.
  • Clear, consistent mapping from product activity to billing output.
  • Reduced billing errors, disputes, and manual interventions.
  • Faster onboarding of new products and pricing models.
  • High trust from finance, product, and customers in invoicing accuracy.
