THE ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT ROLE 

The Associate Consultant position presents a unique opportunity for a person with a proven academic track record and a strong interest in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries to get in on the ground floor of a leading healthcare consulting organization.   

 

Associate Consultants are involved in the execution of project(s). Key activities performed by Associate Consultants include researching information, conducting interviews, analyzing data, supporting financial modeling activities, and preparing deliverables, among others. 

 

This role is based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Project Execution/ Billability (80-90%): 

  • Performs secondary research on markets, products, treatment patterns for current and future medicines in high impact diseases such as oncology, autoimmune diseases, and rare conditions. 

  • Supports the development of discussion materials and coordinates primary market research and conducts interviews. 

  • Creates sections of client deliverables under general guidance from experienced project leaders. 

  • Communicates findings and anticipates potential issues promptly to project leaders. 

  • With guidance, form conclusions, strategies and recommendations that help our clients make informed decisions. 

Business Development/ Corporate Initiatives & Thought Leadership (10-20%): 

  • Build professional expertise in multiple therapeutic and functional areas. 

  • Fully support the development of project proposals for clients upon needs. 

  • Participates in corporate development by contributing to recruiting, knowledge management, technology systems, and related functions. 

  • Develops an understanding of the healthcare industry. 

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • The successful applicant will have demonstrated excellence at a top-tier undergraduate institution and will have 0-2 years work experience.  Alira Health is looking for individuals who are highly analytical, have outstanding quantitative skills, understand how to leverage AI, who can communicate confidently and clearly and who have potential to thrive in a fast paced, high impact environment. 

 

TECHINICAL COMPETENCES & SOFT SKILLS 

  • Strong analytical skills  

  • Ability to problem-solve challenges 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and organization skills. 

  • Experience using AI tools to amplify productivity 

  • Adaptability and an ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge. 

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks  

  • Ability to work with teams based in different countries. 

  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) and elevated level of attention to detail. 

  • Excellent business English, both written and verbal. Additional language is a plus. 

  • Understanding of healthcare industry concepts and challenges, such as trends, regulatory, clinical, regulatory, and general market access, are considered a plus. 

 

Salary range 

  • $78,000 - $83,000
