Description of Work
Salary Recruitment Range: $ 55,221-75,500Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and up to one remote workday per week. The NC Department of Insurance trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management

Expert Analytical Judgment in Classification and Compensation
Prefers a candidate who can independently conduct complex job studies, interpret classification policies, and make well‑supported recommendations with minimal oversight.
Detail-Oriented and Compliance‑Focused Approach
Looks for an individual who ensures accuracy in BEACON entries, maintains ADA‑compliant job descriptions, and stays current on FLSA regulations and OSHR guidelines.
Reliable Support Across HR Functions
Values a flexible team member who can seamlessly step into recruitment duties, review hiring materials for EEO and policy compliance, and collaborate effectively with HR leadership on salary and classification matters.
Minimum Education and Experience
Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. Bachelor’s degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
