Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Program Analyst to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Suicide Prevention (OSP) as part of a high-priority federal contracting initiative focused on suicide prevention sprints. In this role, you will analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of suicide prevention programs, support rapid-cycle improvement efforts, and help translate data-driven insights into actionable recommendations that directly impact Veterans' lives and well-being.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare program analyst who thrives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments, brings deep familiarity with Veterans health care systems, and can independently manage complex program evaluations while collaborating across multidisciplinary federal teams.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the analysis and evaluation of suicide prevention program effectiveness, assessing outcomes, identifying gaps, and developing actionable improvement recommendations aligned with VA OSP strategic priorities.
  • Design and execute program reviews and performance assessments, applying structured methodologies to measure success metrics, track progress against program goals, and support sprint-based improvement cycles.
  • Develop comprehensive program reports, briefings, and dashboards that communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to VA leadership, federal stakeholders, and interagency partners.
  • Identify and assess program resources, including staffing, funding, and operational infrastructure, to support the planning and execution of suicide prevention outreach and intervention initiatives.
  • Support the execution of day-to-day program operations by coordinating across VA program offices, facilitating workgroup meetings, documenting decisions, and tracking action items to ensure sprint deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Monitor emerging policy, research, and best practices in Veterans mental health and suicide prevention, synthesizing information to inform program strategy and ensure alignment with federal mandates and VA clinical guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in program analysis, program evaluation, or healthcare program management, with a demonstrated focus on large-scale integrated health care systems.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Public Health, Health Administration, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a closely related field required.
  • Prior experience supporting VA, VHA, or other federal health agency programs, with familiarity with Veterans health care delivery, outreach structures, and federal program management frameworks.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a VA PIV credential and complete required background investigation for access to VA systems and facilities; existing VA or federal system access is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; this position does not offer visa sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing program evaluation frameworks, performance measurement plans, and written reports or executive-level briefings for federal government clients.
