Job description

Singleton Schreiber, LLP is looking for a motivated Associate Attorney to join our Fire Damages team, who will play a pivotal role in advocating for our clients’ rights and delivering outstanding legal services.

This position will be based in San Diego; however, remote work options are available.

Salary:

$125,000 to $165,000 annually

Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.

Key Responsibilities

The Big Picture

Support litigation and case strategy through substantive legal work, client advocacy, and collaboration with cross-functional legal teams. Ensure cases progress efficiently while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards. 

Specific Tasks

  • Manage discovery, including propounding and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, meeting and conferring with opposing counsel, and analyzing complex documents.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including discovery motions and opposition papers.
  • Perform legal research.
  • Make court appearances as necessary.
  • Participate in case strategy discussions and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and team members.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on cases.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in California
  • 2+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience responding/objecting to written discovery and taking/defending depositions
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency with E-Discovery and law programs such as, Sharefile, Lexis Nexis, Smart Advocate, Everlaw, FileVine and OneLegal
  • Detail oriented, organized, reliable, and a team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
