Intermediate Mine Closure Cost Estimator
Vancouver, BC; Saskatoon, SK; Calgary, AB; Toronto, ON; Whitehorese, YT; Remote - Regular Full-Time
 
As a Mine Closure Specialist III, this role will provide engineering and environmental input and support for mine closure, permitting and assessment, remediation and reclamation projects with a focus on closure cost estimation.

About the Role
  • Provide input and support for reclamation, mine closure, permitting and assessment projects.
  • Lead the development of cost estimates for mine closure projects and life-of-mine costs.
  • Participate and support with workshops and engagement sessions regarding closure principles, visions, objectives, end land use planning.
  • Support with the development of reclamation and closure plans (RCP) for assessment and permitting.
  • Support with the development of alternative assessments, reclamation research plans, and closure strategy development.
  • Support with stakeholder engagement for reclamation and closure projects. 
  • Provide technical input in closure and reclamation planning at all stages of the mine life.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Reclamation and Mine Closure Department/Group from a strategy perspective.
  • Contribute to the implementation of reclamation closure strategies and provide input to compliance of plan implementation in as it relates to regulatory authorizations.
  • Support activities related to environmental assessments, licensing and permit applications for Ensero projects and clients with support from Senior technical SME’s.
  • Work collaboratively with technical teams and proactively identify opportunities to improve project environmental design aspects.
  • Develop integrated project schedules including critical path for the end-to-end tasks and activities necessary to successfully implement projects and studies.
  • Conducts summary reporting and technical reporting for internal and external (e.g. regulatory applications) requirements.
  • Participate in workshops and various meetings related to technical programs.
  • Travel to potential and existing worksites to interface with on-site staff, vendors, customers, and regulatory personnel for reclamation and mine closure project
  • Provide technical input to projects within area(s) of expertise.
  • Interface with other technical experts to achieve multidisciplinary project goals
  • All other related duties as required. 

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or a related field
  • 4 - 6 years of work experience related to mining/remediation/reclamation/mine closure/permitting or similar.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members as well as lead independent projects
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
