Job description

Job Title: Senior Manager, IPR

Department: IPR

Reports to: Sr. Director, Integrated Public Relations


Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military and veteran families by improving their financial, emotional, and social well-being. Operation Homefront is sourcing candidates for a remote Senior Manager, IPR.


The Senior Manager of IPR will assist in planning, developing, implementing, and directing a strategic public relations program to raise awareness of Operation Homefront as a leading national military and veteran charity. Reporting to the Senior Director of IPR, the manager will be key in producing measurable impact and results in positive brand awareness, image, reputation, and key stakeholder engagement by executing tactics to support strategic PR plans, marketing campaigns, donor activations and events. Candidates must have strong working knowledge of integrated, multi-channel public relations with the ability to analyze information and convert to messages and communications appropriate to the target audience. The Senior Manager should have experience with media pitching, measuring results, and analyzing PR-related data metrics. The Senior Manager will be creative, have excellent writing skills and be a team player exemplifying the core values of Operation Homefront.


Desired candidates will have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in media relations and strategic communications. 
  • Experience with Cision and Monday.com preferred.
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • MVR – Motor Vehicle Report (annual)
  • Criminal background check


Primary job duties include:

  • Under the direction of the Senior Director of IPR, own responsibility for year-round regional media outreach, reporting and staff media training in support of regional program delivery. 
  • Execute PR plans that detail strategy, tactics, messaging, channels, outcomes and measurements to achieve success for donor-related and organizational campaigns, promotions, and special events. 
  • Help develop and leverage an editorial calendar to support full mission content.
  • Generate reports and analyze data to measure and share results of PR campaigns and partner activations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Other Details:

General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events as needed. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
