Job description

Position Summary: Direct the technical selection, design, development, implementation, and support of University enterprise applications for Enrollment Management, Teaching and Learning, Student Affairs, Global Housing, and Global Outreach and Mobility. Provide strategic direction and develop application and portfolio roadmaps in collaboration with business partners to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the University’s critical system assets. Assess and evaluate application and solution requests from university business unit leaders, schools, and senior leaders; direct the preparation of project plans and schedules, in collaboration with the PMO where appropriate; create strategies to optimize the use of technical resources; and collaborate with NYU IT leadership and management of schools and units to develop and deliver comprehensive, integrated solutions that are in alignment with the goals of the University. Ensure a robust cybersecurity posture and unified security strategy across all assigned portfolios. Direct staffing activities and vendor relationships. Provide technical expertise to NYU IT management, as well as school and business unit leaders; develop short-term and long-term plans for the management and continuous improvement of services managed. Qualifications: Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related disciplines

Required Experience:
10+ years 12+ years of progressively responsible professional experience. At least 7 years in a leadership role. Managerial experience of technical staff in a multi-project and ongoing operations environment. Progressively responsible professional experience in information technology with heavy emphasis on application selection, design, configuration, development, integration, implementation, testing, and support. Experience with enterprise-scale applications, including PeopleSoft SIS or other SIS ERP solution; Learning Management Systems or equivalent experience; web applications; and application development.

Preferred Experience:
10+ years experience with PeopleSoft SIS or similar SIS ERP solutions, Learning Management Systems, housing and immigration solutions. Significant experience managing high-availability/mission-critical system. Hands-on experience with implementation, upgrades, security, and support of ERP applications at large or medium sized University. Previous experience in software design, development, and maintenance methodologies. Management experience in a higher education environment. Strong functional experience in Student Information Systems and Learning Management Systems.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to develop multi-year technology roadmaps and unified cybersecurity strategies across diverse portfolios. Understanding of the convergence between IT and physical security, including field device management and emergency notification systems. Advanced skills in stakeholder management and the ability to influence C-suite leadership on technology investments and risk mitigation. Proven ability to lead large organizational transformation, including the merger of disparate technical units. Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to provide technical advice to a non-technical audience. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders (faculty, employees, students). Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and systems skills. Proven ability to design, implement, and manage applications with quantifiable results. Capacity for flexible thinking with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience partnering with third-party vendors on application implementation. Strong leadership and management skills; ability to mentor, coach, and supervise a high-performing team. Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organization, both inside and outside the University. Prior supervisory experience required. A solid understanding of hardware, software, database management, software development, cloud environments, and networking is required. Strong knowledge of enterprise application deployment and support methodologies. Ability to analyze trends and make recommendations. Ability to effectively integrate and manage complex projects. Must be well-versed in data quality and data management practices to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $260,500.00 to USD $300,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
