Job Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician V to support our Medium Voltage Energy Products Division. In this highly visible, customer-facing role, you will partner with industrial and utility customers across the United States to deliver technical expertise, training, and on-site support.

This position will primarily support customers across Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming, and requires extensive domestic travel (up to 75%), with remote/home-based work when not in the field. The ideal candidate must be located in Boise, ID.

Job Requirements

  • Provide expert technical support for TE’s Medium Voltage product lines to customers across industrial and utility sectors
  • Deliver hands-on training to line crews, splicers, electricians, and electrical superintendents
  • Conduct on-site installation support, ensuring proper application and performance of TE products
  • Facilitate product training sessions, certification programs, and customer seminars
  • Represent TE Connectivity at industry trade shows and events
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility personnel, contractors, and key stakeholders
  • Serve as a trusted technical consultant for Medium Voltage solutions
  • Perform basic product failure analysis and prepare detailed reports
  • Lead product demonstrations and support new product rollouts
  • Provide AMPACT training and perform tool maintenance/repairs (overhead product line)
  • Identify new application opportunities in the field and collaborate with Sales and Product Management teams
  • Deliver actionable feedback on product performance, competitive insights, and improvement opportunities
  • Support additional field service activities as business needs evolve

What your background should look like

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant field service, electrical, or utility experience
  • Strong customer focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High energy, self-motivated, and results-driven mindset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 75%
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company-provided vehicle

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working with medium voltage products or similar electrical systems
  • Prior experience in utility, industrial, or power distribution environments
  • Training or instructional experience

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $74,400– $111,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
