Job description

Job Title: Medical Virtual Assistant (Urgent Care Support)

  • Job Type: Full-Time (7 hours per day)
  • Location: Remote
  • Salary: 40,000 per month

About the Role

We are looking for a Medical Virtual Assistant to support an Urgent Care facility by managing patient phone inquiries and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical customer service and be comfortable assisting patients with appointment scheduling, prescription issues, insurance verification, and missing paperwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and triage patient calls professionally and empathetically.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments based on patient needs.
  • Assist with prescription-related concerns, including refill requests and pharmacy coordination.
  • Verify insurance coverage and in-network status for patients.
  • Help patients complete missing forms and paperwork.
  • Document patient interactions accurately and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant, Medical Receptionist, or in Healthcare Customer Service.
  • Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (experience with Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar is a plus).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and scheduling protocols.
  • Strong communication skills in English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus).
  • Proficiency with computer applications and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
