JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision of the Supervisor, the Sr. Claims Adjuster performs the essential functions of the position, which includes but is not limited to:


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Investigate, evaluate, and resolve automobile claims in a timely and efficient manner;

2. Document investigations, evaluations, recommendations, and plans of action;

3. Ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within company standards, industry best practices and all state and federal regulations;

4. Produce grammatically correct and clearly written correspondence including letters, memos, reports and claim file documentation;

5. Exhibit exceptional customer service? Maintain positive customer relationships, and exhibit a courteous and professional demeanor

6. Maintain a reliable system of keeping files current and be caught up on claim tasks and diaries.

7. Be able to handle any and all types of automobile insurance claims regardless of the level of complexity, severity of injuries, or number of features.

8. Evaluate and settle a wide level of injury claims including soft tissue injuries, serious injuries involving hospitalization, fatalities, etc.

9. Effectively manage litigated files throughout the entire litigation process.

10. Exhibit a high degree of decision making and require minimal supervision with regards to liability decisions and injury evaluations.

11. Act as a mentor for adjusters with less experience and assist in the training and development of claims staff.

12. Maintain a high level of productivity.

13. Respond to timely to customers’ inquiries and to requests by management.

14. Minimize customer complaint calls.

15. Regular and predictable punctuality and attendance;

16. Comply with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance criteria, insurance carrier criteria and follow Aspire General Insurance Company/partner’s policies, procedure and work rules;

17. Other duties as necessary.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

1. Three plus years’ experience in Property and Casualty insurance industry;

2. Must have a clear understanding of insurance industry practices, standards and terminology;

3. Experience handling both auto property damage and injury claims;

4. Must be able to pass a background check;

5. Must have a disciplined approach to all job-related activities;

6. Must have a solid foundation of personal organization, sound decision making and analytical skills, strong interpersonal and customer service skills;

7. Ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously;

8. Ability to achieve targeted performance goals.


INTER-RELATIONSHIP COMPONENT:

1. Ability to develop excellent working relationships with staff, clients, Partners and outside agencies;

2. Ability to communicate with others in an effective and friendly manner, one that is conducive to being a conscientious team member, fostering a spirit of good will, indicative of a professional environment and atmosphere;

3. Ability to be a team player and work cohesively with other Company Partners and Companies staff to achieve company goals;

4. Able to represent the company in a professional manner and contribute to the corporate image;

5. Able to consistently provide excellent client service.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. This is a non-exempt position which complies with alternative work schedule when applicable;

2. This position may require mandatory overtime as deemed appropriate by management;

3. The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment;

4. Travel may be required;

5. This work environment is fast-paced and accuracy is essential to successful task completion;

6. Requires extended periods of computer use and sitting

Compensation may vary based on several factors, including candidate's individual skills, relevant work experience, location, etc. 

Salary Description
$33.00-40.00 an hour
