The Attorney provides comprehensive legal services to TAP clients who are survivors of domestic and dating violence, child abuse, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking. This role includes offering legal advice and referrals through the statewide legal line, securing protective and court orders to enhance client safety, drafting pleadings for pro se clients, and providing direct representation in civil matters. The Staff Attorney also supports victim advocacy efforts in coordination with law enforcement and the judiciary, assists with post-arrest legal support, and delivers trainings to stakeholders across Texas to promote best practices and expand TAP’s reach.

Qualifications
Salary range $76,000-$100,000. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Texas Advocacy Project provides health insurance, malpractice insurance, CLE and State Bar dues are paid, and you have the opportunity to participate in the Project’s matching retirement plan. Generous paid vacation, personal leave, and holidays.
A criminal background check will be conducted.
