Job description

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is a world famous brand with offices across the globeWithin Fender Musical Instruments Corporation’s ("FMIC") This position has primary financial responsibility for Fender company activity in the Netherlands with emphasis on team leadership, regulatory compliance, and financial accuracy. 

An American icon, Fender was born in Southern California and has built a worldwide influence extending beyond the studio and the stage. A Fender is more than an instrument, it’s a cultural symbol that resonates globally. 

We are searching for a Finance Manager based in East Grinstead.  

Essential Functions:  

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and standard operating procedures and identify/establish internal controls and ensure their operating effectiveness, 
  • Lead and manage finance staff, providing guidance, supervision and development in accounting and transactional activities, 
  • Oversee timely and accurate submission of month end accounts within defined timelines, 
  • Oversee VAT compliance across all European jurisdictions including submissions, payments and reconciliations, 
  • Oversee corporation tax compliance all European jurisdictions including submissions, payments and reconciliations, 
  • Manage relationships with external third-party providers, including auditors, where applicable, 
  • Oversee submission of timely and accurate branch accounts specifically for Italy and Ireland,  
  • Manage month end balance sheet tasks reconciliations via Blackline software,  resolving aged items , 
  • Supervise intercompany accounting including management fees and transfer pricing, 
  • Ensure effective use of SAP, banking systems (Bank of America) and other finance platforms, 
  • Review and approve credit memos, 
  • Support system implementations and process improvement automations,

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting and finance experience with management responsibilities  
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent), 
  • Experience of transactional accounting processes, e.g. accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll, 
  • Strong knowledge of multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions and consolidations, 
  • Comprehensive understanding of European tax regulations (VAT, Corporation Tax), 
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work across cultures, 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure, 
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills. 

Desirable Skills: 

  • Proven experience in team leadership and staff management, 
  • Additional European language skills (French/German/Spanish/Italian), 
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing and international tax planning, 
  • Experience with treasury and cash management systems, 
  • Previous experience with audit management and statutory reporting, 
  • Familiarity with Blackline, Navan and banking automation systems, 
  • Knowledge of data analytics and workflow management tools,  
  • Knowledge of various European tax and compliance systems.
