Job description

Riverion is looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join our growing data team in India. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in cloud-based data engineering, who thrives on solving complex data challenges and building scalable solutions using Azure technologies. Who You Are:

  • A data engineering professional with 4–5 years of experience, specializing in Azure-based solutions.

  • Proficient in SQL, with expertise in advanced query writing, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

  • Skilled in Python for data manipulation, automation, and integration tasks.

  • Experienced in PySpark for large-scale distributed data processing.

  • Well-versed in data modeling, including relational, dimensional, and big data models.

  • Familiar with version control tools like Git and best practices in collaborative development.

  • Knowledgeable in performance optimization techniques such as indexing, partitioning, and caching.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data FactoryAzure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake.

  • Develop and optimize data workflows and transformations using SQLPython, and PySpark.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver robust solutions.

  • Implement and manage data models across various storage and processing layers.

  • Ensure high performance and reliability of data systems through tuning and optimization.

  • Maintain code quality and version control using Git or equivalent tools.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated with the latest Azure data engineering trends.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL Database.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in data engineering.

  • Experience working in Agile environments and participating in sprint planning and reviews.

  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
