Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are expanding our in-house Legal team and are looking for a Legal Counsel with a strong compliance focus to support our business units across the legal matters that arise in a fast-moving technology environment. In this role you will own the drafting and ongoing maintenance of our user-facing legal documents - in particular terms of use, terms of service, and related policies -  and help build and run the group's compliance and data protection framework. You will act as a practical, business-minded partner to product, commercial, and management teams.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a business-minded legal professional who enjoys turning complex legal topics into practical solutions. You are confident working independently, communicate clearly with non-legal teams, and thrive in a fast-moving technology environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own our legal documents.  Draft, update, and continuously maintain terms of use, terms of service, acceptable use policies, and other user-facing legal documents across all group products.
  • Build the compliance framework.  Design, implement, and monitor internal policies, controls, and procedures across business units β€” creating real structure where it matters.
  • Lead on data protection and privacy compliance, including GDPR (and other applicable regimes): privacy notices, data processing agreements, records of processing, data subject requests, and support for DPIAs.
  • Partner with product & engineering.  Advise teams on regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle, turning legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Review content for compliance.  Screen marketing, product, and platform content for legal and regulatory risk before it goes live.
  • Stay ahead of the law.  Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in tech, e-commerce, and data protection, and keep our documents current.
  • Support commercial legal work.  Assist the wider Legal team with NDAs, vendor agreements, and customer contracts as needed.
  • Champion compliance culture.  Deliver internal training and help build genuine compliance awareness across the organisation.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE

  • Law degree and qualification to practise (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • 2+ years of legal experience, ideally in technology, e-commerce, compliance, or product-driven businesses.
  • Experience drafting and maintaining user-facing legal documents such as Terms of Use, Terms of Service, privacy policies, and related agreements in English.
  • Solid understanding of GDPR and data protection principles; familiarity with other privacy frameworks (CCPA, LGPD, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills, with the ability to explain legal matters clearly and simply to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and organisational skills, with attention to detail and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, take ownership of your work, and adapt quickly as business needs evolve.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills -  you build trust easily and work effectively across product, engineering, commercial, and leadership teams.
  • Exposure to commercial contracts, vendor agreements, or negotiations would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience working in or advising technology product companies is highly valued.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary depending on experience and skills.
  • Flexibility  Fully remote setup - we have a preference for EU/Ukraine based candidates to align on time zones, but we are open to discussing.
  • Real ownership You will have a direct impact on how we scale compliantly and responsibly.
  • A fast-moving environment  We move quickly, value clear thinking, and trust our people to get things done.
  • ‍Growth and development - opportunities to grow are endless, with support for your professional development;
  • Educational programs  to expand your knowledge and skills;
  • Paid holidays, vacation, personal days and sick leave.
