About the Role

Campus is seeking experienced, mission-driven, student-centered mathematics instructors to deliver high-impact online courses as part of our General Education program. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about student success, thrive in virtual environments, and believe that every student can learn to think quantitatively.

You'll join a growing network of faculty dedicated to creating meaningful learning experiences for students from all backgrounds, particularly those historically underserved by higher education. Our mathematics sequence Quantitative Reasoning, College Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics is designed to develop mathematical reasoning, interpretation, and evidence evaluation as transferable intellectual skills that students will use to analyze data, make decisions, evaluate claims, and participate fully in academic and professional life.

What You’ll Teach

  • MATH 125: Quantitative Reasoning (4 quarter credits)

  • MATH 175: College Algebra (4 quarter credits)

  • MATH 200: Calculus I (4 quarter credits)

  • STAT 210: Statistics (4 quarter credits)

Academic Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Teach 11-week live, synchronous online courses using engaging, student-centered instructional strategies

  • Teach mathematical reasoning and interpretation as transferable intellectual skills, not only procedural fluency

  • Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes active learning and student participation

  • Make real-world connections consistently so students leave class understanding why what they learned matters

  • Recognize and address math anxiety without lowering expectations hold students to high standards with warmth and encouragement

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and respond to student inquiries within 24 hours

  • Host weekly office hours to deepen student understanding and build community

  • Work with Teaching Assistants to co-manage the course, including mentoring the TA on effective grading and student engagement practices

  • Evaluate student progress, maintain grade records, and submit mid-quarter and end-of-quarter grades

  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Operations team and Program Director on course refinement and ongoing revision

  • Contribute to co-curricular programming to enrich the student experience

  • Stay current on mathematics pedagogy trends, online teaching tools, and approaches for supporting nontraditional learners

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field

  • At least 3 years of college-level mathematics teaching experience

  • Demonstrated ability to teach mathematical reasoning and interpretation as transferable intellectual skills, not only procedural computation

  • Strong content knowledge across quantitative reasoning, algebra, and introductory statistics

  • Experience making abstract mathematical concepts concrete and relevant through real-world applications

  • Comfort teaching students with varying levels of mathematical preparation and confidence

  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain the same concept multiple ways until it lands

  • Proactive, reliable, and committed to high-quality online education

  • Passion for equity, access, and supporting students from diverse backgrounds

  • Available to commit 8–10 hours per week per course, with some flexibility for training

Compensation

  • $8,000 per 4-credit course/11 week quarter
