Renewables Substation Engineer
Remote
Full Time

Seeking a highly skilled Collector Substation Engineer with a strong background in renewables and collector or generation side experience. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE). This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse and impactful projects in the renewable energy field.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement collector substation projects with a focus on renewable energy generation and integration.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis and calculations to ensure optimal performance and reliability of substations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Perform equipment selection, layout design, and technical evaluations for substation components.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project requirements and ensure proper implementation.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and substation engineering practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in substation engineering, with at least one year on the generation side.
  • Experience from a consulting company rather than a utility.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems and their integration with substations.
  • Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
